It’s been an odd couple of months since the last update where I haven’t finished as many things as I would have liked to, but the reason for that is that I buckled down into learning how to rig 3D models. I learned the basics in my college 3D courses and had a decent enough understanding to get my more recent models moving, but I never knew enough to be able to do it without having 5 different tutorials open. Those days are finally over! However, I also haven’t animated in years so the fruits of that labor have yet to be properly seen. I planned to show off a whole collection of little animations for this update but I’ve pretty much scrapped them now, haha. Hopefully they’ll see the light of day next month.

Aside from that, I’ve been hard at work on commissions both large and small!

The prequel to the Inspector Waffles game was announced recently on Twitter (link), and once again I had the honor of doing the key art. This game is for the gameboy, so I tried to get those 90’s vibes across! I think I could do a little better with some more practice, but since I was working in an established style anyways, I think it worked out! I really do want to practice 90’s-style art more though because I love how they used color then, especially in anime.

Aside from that, I opened up private commissions in February where I offered to do 3D models for the first time, and they’ve been a great success! As of writing, I’ve finished two and am halfway done with the 3rd. Despite listing them as February commissions, I am still taking them while work is in a slow phase. More information is available on my Tumblr and Twitter.
