Since the last update, I’ve finally moved into my first apartment with my partner, Stump. City living is a different beast and it’s hard to get used to! Everything is going fine though. Our apartment is still pretty empty, the only furniture we have is a couch, a couple tv-trays, a bed, and a desk to work at, but it’s been enough to get by with. Once we recouperate some savings, we’ll be able to get some nice ameneties like a tv and maybe some barstools to sit at the kitchen counter rather than eating at the couch (as if that would ever happen, lol).

January was a very busy month! Though I was fortunate to not be working much while we were busy with the move. I spent the month finishing up the BAE ’22, and polishing up personal projects.

If you’re not familiar, the BAE is short for The Big Adventure Event, which is a steam sale event for adventure games hosted by Hitcents, an indie publisher I’ve done a fair amount of work with over the past couple years. I was given the opportunity to do the art for the inaugural event in 2021, and they were kind enough to invite me back for 2022! I’m unable to find the link to the original event, but this year’s (and presumably every year after, as it overwrote the original)  is linked here.

In terms of personal art I was able to do, I finished the 3d cottage interior I had been working on for months, as well as the 3rd version of my farmer character’s model! In making both of these I learned an incredible amount about modeling, texturing and painting, and even rigging! This is the best anything I’ve made in 3d has turned out yet, I’m extremely proud of it. If you want to view it in 3d space, I’ve uploaded it to sketchfab for anyone who wants to take a closer look!

After that, I even had some leftover energy to draw this set of cute farm animals! One of these days, I’ll model all of them in 3d. The cat I actually already made, it just needs a few fixes based on what I’ve learned since I last touched it.

I’ve got high hopes for what I’ll be able to make this year. I’ve had a nice break from work this past month after the whirlwind that was 2021, and I’m feeling good and ready to create! I might even publicly open commissions again for this month, so keep an eye on my tumblr and twitter if you’re interested in those!

Thanks for reading and farewell until next time!
